I chose this piece the day after my mom and I got into an argument. The reality is that it hasn’t been easy lately in our relationship. So I chose this cross as a reminder to be kind, and that in moments when it’s hard it takes courage.
I knew since the beginning that I wanted to give my second piece to my mom. I was completely unsatisfied with each one I chose for her, but I kept feeling God telling me to just keep praying for her. On our way out there was a wall of more pieces. There was a heart with the words “I’m no longer a slave of fear, I am a child of God.” Her favorite song from the Life Teen Women’s Retreat. My takeaway: God is so immensely faithful, keep hope in His promises, he will uphold them.
