I went to help make crosses one evening with a co-worker – both of us have recently lost our husbands to cancer. It was a wonderful evening with about 20 of us busily designing crosses from clay, putting glazes on bisque crosses, watching the kilns fill up, and putting cards and hanging cords on completed, fired crosses. One was more beautiful than the next – and all were made lovingly with thoughts of family, friends and others. We got to pick one cross to take home. I found one that said “Always and Forever” — it has two hearts entwined on it and a piece is missing from the bottom of the cross – it was just perfect for me at this time. I’ll keep it and treasure it, until I find someone who will also need it.
