I received this cross as a gift at a group called “Adventure Club” that I am in. I didn’t make it to a single other meeting for the group this year, but this cross has changed my life. My cross is yellow with a beautiful pattern of grooves on the front and a stamp that reads “courage”. Courage is something that I had been lacking this year, and I know that praying for opportunities to be courageous has led me to where I am today.
I am confident that God’s hand has been on my heart to move forward from a place of comfort to greet the unknown. He has brought me from a place of bitterness and misunderstanding to a place of openness and freedom. I went from a life closed and focused in on my own plan, to a life surrendered to His will for me…a will that I know will offer the most happiness possible for me. I have prayed over a particular passage that I hope will help you also. It is Jeremiah 29:11…”For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the LORD—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope.”
Christ guides our lives. We must try to conform our will to His. Often this is a call for us to move out of the ordinary and into the unknown, but when Christ calls, I have found that it is often more painful not to answer.
I pray for each heart this cross touches–that it might help them to recognize and tangibly experience the person of Jesus Christ through their daily lives.
