This cross was given to me as a gift ….a gift for my birthday from a very dear friend. It is a blue cross designed with an angel and the inscription….you are some kind of WONDERFUL. This beautiful cross is truly a description of her. She is a wonderful mom, wife ,daughter, and friend. She is always there for everyone, ready to help in any possible way. She has given me laughter, strength and a shoulder to cry upon. I have realized ,over the years of our friendship, how very blessed i have been to have her as my friend. So, as in the words of a famous poet, i would like to dedicate this poem to her.
Friendship is a priceless gift
That can’t be bought or sold,
But its value is far greater
Than a mountain made of gold.
For gold is cold and lifeless,
It cannot see nor hear,
And in your times of trouble,
It is powerless to cheer.
It has no ears to listen,
No heart to understand.
It cannot bring you comfort
Or reach out a helping hand.
So when you ask God for a gift,
Be thankful that he sends,
Not diamonds, pearls, or riches,
But the love of a real, true friend
