I recently moved to Florida to get away from an abusive marriage. I am a survivor of domestic violence, including sexual, physical, emotional, spiritual, and verbal abuse. Trusting GOD for healing and to open doors bought me to the Answered Prayers Project for a potluck one evening. I picked the cross that says ‘Prayers’ because it was the prayers of many church friends and close ones that gave me strength to finally stand up for myself and say “no more”. The prayers have not only helped me, but they are bringing my husband closer to GOD. I am a witness that this scripture is true – James 5:16b says “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Amen!
