This Old Rugged Cross was given to me by Jill…knowing that our family has experienced many losses this year .My sister-in-law – Shirley was in an auto accident mid-May and is in a skilled nursing home surrounded by her husband of 50 years and all of the kids and extended family. She is progressing and we know every step is in God’s time. Her husband Wade is there primarily for her each day, but has become an official volunteer helping and assisting others who live there as well. Not just a volunteer but more of a pastor caring for their hearts, mind and soul. Wade and Shirley’s beautiful testimony of love coming up on their 50th year anniversary in December…they will celebrate with all of the staff and residence of the facility and of course, their family. God had placed Wade and Shirley in a very unique journey designed by HIM. I am giving my Old Rugged Cross to Wade and Shirley this day to under gird them on this unique journey! Acts 20:24: “Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus – the work of telling others the Good News about God’s might kindness and love.”
