I asked Elizabeth to select a cross for me to give to a friend who is mourning. Recently, my friend’s teenage son lost his best friend to an accidental death. This death struck so close to home; my friend grieved for the loss of this young person, but also for the pain and suffering her own son was going through. The cross I gave her says “Friendship.” I wanted to honor the friendship that her son had and also the one we mothers share.
