It’s been 9 months since my best friend Corrie’s husband Felix died unexpectedly. In a moment at the age of 42 she is a widow. Corrie’s husband adored her; they were truly soul mates. They had a mind, body and soul connection. People always commented on how perfect they were together and it was obvious they were still deeply in love after 17 years of marriage. They were finally looking forward to the next phase of life as their kids are finally adults. God had a different plan. I remember just crying on the phone with Corrie for over an hour with no words to say. When I found the words I reminded Corrie God doesn’t promise us tomorrow but he promises to never leave or forsake us. Felix’s death allowed me to share God with my associates at work. It gave me the ability to ask people if you died today do you know for sure you would be heaven? John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life’. Salvation is a free gift from God because Jesus shed his blood on the cross for everyone. It’s by faith we believe, confessing and repenting of our sins is the repentance, and accepting Jesus into our hearts is salvation. I have watched Corrie over the last 9 months find her faith again. Corrie now says God blessed me with 17 years of amazingness with Felix. God must have a different plan for the rest of my life. I personally can tell you God has never failed me and in the darkest moments of my life he has carried me. To anyone reading this right now, we are only here for a small moment in time. God has a plan for our lives, give him your heart he loves you more than anyone else ever could!
