Mustard Seed of Faith

Each cross is finished with a mustard seed. “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

    Prayers For A Child

I recently came across my cross given to me by a student I tutored a few years ago.  I am moved when I receive a gift created from the heart of a child.  It is very meaningful to me, because it allows me to know in some small way that I have impacted their lives in ways that I will never know.  This special gift is also a point of contact for me to earnestly pray and intercede for the heart of this child, for her protection, her prosperity, and her posterity.  God will continually stir up the gifts inside of her. She will definitely be used by God for his pleasure and for his Glory.  Dear Heavenly Father, please shower this child with your divine blessings. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I received this cross in May of 2013 after my 21 year old daughter passed away on Mother’s Day … May 12, 2013. I do not remember who gave it to me. I just came across it when I was cleaning out a drawer and decided it’s time to register it and pass it on. A dear friend of my has recently passed away. She helped me so much when I was grieving over my daughter. I now want to pass it on to her family. I love you sweet Catherine ! Now you and my good friend Suzi can look down upon us from heaven

I received my cross from a dear friend of mine for my birthday. Her primary home is in Orlando, Florida and mine is in Huntsville, Alabama.  We both own a mountain home in Sapphire, North Carolina in the Burlingame community. It is here where I met Susie five years ago, as we come to the mountains to spend our spring and summers. We both are women of faith and have had to rely on Christ’s grace and mercy to guide us through some of the most difficult times. I do believe our steadfast belief that He is always near allows us to feel His presense and know that His love for us remains forever

Most of my young life I did things my own way, but Jesus was always there. His patience amazes me, His love amazes me. Once I just couldn’t take the pain of doing life without Him anymore, I finally handed everything over to Him about 5 years ago. I had one foot in and one foot out prior to that. He needs it all. His love is too great to accept it half way. Life still has its challenges, but He is there guiding me. When I trust Him, it really does work out, and I’m never going through anything alone anymore. Well, not that I was ever alone, but I no longer feel alone. My family has been so blessed by the gift of prayer, and a marriage that was on the brink of divorce is healing. I see my son’s growing in Jesus’s love and enjoy watching them grow. I really have been blessed without measure, and can’t wait to see what He has in store for me each day. May Jesus Christ be praised forever! Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!!

My husband and I had a year in which we lost 3 beloved family members. Our hearts were broken. Some days we felt as though we were drowning in grief.
I received a package in the mail. It contained a beautiful handmade ceramic cross and the most beautiful note. This package came from a friend who had experienced what I can only imagine is the greatest loss. The loss if her precious daughter.
I looked at her note, and the beautiful cross and felt an incredible warmth. If this beautiful friend could find the love to comfort me in the wake of her own grief, I know I will be ok. Her faith filled me with a renewed faith. I realized that God is in charge of everything. He knows what we need when we need it. I can count on him and the faith and love he sent through my precious friend, to get me through anything.
I have held onto this cross for far too long. It has held a powerful meaning to me. But as my heart breaks for a friend who just lost her husband of 50 years, I realize the faith, the comfort, the message represented by this cross needs to be shared. So today I am passing it on.
My prayer is that it can bring the same comfort to my friend in pain that it brought to me.

We just had our second baby during the Corona virus pandemic. We’re so thankful he’s healthy and our family is doing great. We are praying that the right decisions are made regarding reopening the schools as my husband is a high school teacher. We do not want to expose a new baby to this virus nor our toddler. We pray for healing all over our country and world and an end to this pandemic.

I received this cross over 5 years ago as a ‘thank you’ for my years of service teaching Sunday School. My cross says ‘Joy’ and that is my daughter’s name. My daughter is my pride and joy! My prayers have been answered as she has grown up to be a most compassionate and caring individual for all living things and our planet. She is the future and I believe it is in good hands. Hallelujah!
